Furniture Upcycling: Sustainable Decor

This year I wanted to create a colorful, serene setting for my art creations. I completely changed up the room that my brother and I used as a playroom when we were toddlers, but that had accumulated a lot of random stuff over the years. It had become so cluttered, it wasn’t a usable room any more.

Instead of investing money in new furniture, I decided to refurbish the outdated tan wood furniture that we already had. I first painted an art stool. Then I tried my hand at painting a bookshelf. I got really creative with adding cane to my brother’s old desk and adding stick on wallpaper and new knobs to an old dresser. Check out my YouTube videos for my upcycling process!

For this dresser, I applied chinoiserie stick on wallpaper to the drawers. I also replaced the sphere knobs with cute brass pulls shaped like butterflies, dragonflies, and birds.
